Behold the ravages of social interaction.

I have fallen to a human disease.  That’s the down side to hermit life–you can end up with an immune system of an extraterrestrial.

I have been sleeping for 9 days now.   I made it home to my cabin, but after a week of laying there in the cold, I came to town and got a room for a couple of  days.   Tomorrow I resume cabin life.

  1. Hey Crow,
We met at that one restaurant at Crater Lake this summer during dinner. Not sure if you remember or not. Glad to hear your winter was good and refreshing. By the way, I got duped about Santiam Pass too. Got talked into buying Yak Tracks when I was in Bend after hearing about the treacherous snow (as if they would do any good if crampons were really needed). Of course they never left my pack and were quickly sent home. Enjoy the spring and happy hiking. Get well soon.

  2. Sorry to hear you’re sick but hopefully you’ll get better soon. I guess I haven’t thought about the fact your immune system would be weaker since you live in isolation most of the time. It does make sense though. I wonder what (if anything) the pioneers did to combat this from happening to them.
